Call for Papers

The Center for Critical Research on Religion 
invites paper proposals for a session on 

Critical Theories of Religion 

to be held at the 17th Annual Conference of the 

International Social Theory Consortium 

Loyola University Chicago, Illinois, USA 
May 17-19, 2018.

This panel will explore how critical theory, in the broadest possible sense, can applied to the analysis of religion. Critical theories discussed may include but need not be confined to the critical theory of the Frankfurt School, Marxism, post-structuralism, feminism, psychoanalysis, ideological criticism, post-colonialism, ecocriticism, and queer studies.

Authors of promising papers presented in this panel will be invited to submit their revised papers in article form to the peer-reviewed academic journal Critical Research on Religion (http://crr.sagepub.com) either individually or for a special issue.
