Subject: [Carv_aar] publication opportunity

Dear colleagues:

I am looking for authors to contribute to a volume I am editing called: “Religious Violence Today: Faith and Conflict in the Modern World.” The book will be written for both high school and college students, so this is a great way to impart the importance of studying religion onto student prior to college.

The book will focus on religiously justified violence during the last 10-15 years for religions around the world. The purpose is not only to track how people use religion to commit violence, but also how particular people are targeted for violence because of their religion.

Each chapter focuses on a particular religion. The chapter would contain an overview (around 4,000 words in length) and around 20 reference entries (each around 1000 words) on topics related to the particular religion and violence.

Currently, I am looking for authors for the chapters on:
  1. Chinese Religion,
  2. Hinduism,
  3. Judaism,
  4. New Religion, and
  5. Sikhism.
I am able to provide a small honorarium for those who write each chapter.

If you are interesting in writing one of these chapters, please send me an email off the list-serve (mjerryson@PROTECTED) along with a current CV.

warmly,

michael
