In his presidential address to the AAR, published in the latest issue of the Journal of the American Academy of Religion, Thomas Tweed emphasized the importance of discussing the role of values in the study of religion in order to improve “difficult dialogues” within and beyond AAR’s “Big Tent.” We (the four undersigned in the attached official announcement) agree, and have developed a new global survey designed to gather information about the values of scholars who study religion from different disciplines.
In order for the project to succeed, we need a wide diversity of scholars to participate. The easiest way to help is to point people toward the official website:
Please consider helping us get the “snowball” rolling by sharing this link through your scholarly networks (or on Facebook:  https://www.facebook.com/visorproject/?fref=ts). Of course, we hope you will take the survey too!
Please let me know if you have any questions.
 Sincerely,
Ann
